The BPF's response to the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) 'call for input' on the future regulation of alternative fund managers. We support the FCA’s call for input to better support firms to grow, compete, innovate, and enter the market - while protecting customers and encouraging firms to manage risk responsibly.

Future Social Housing Rent Policy

The Government has ambitious targets to deliver 1.5m homes over this parliamentary period and increase the delivery of social housing. Such ambitions can only be achieved with ambitious policies, and the support of all sources of investment – public, not-for-profit, and for-profit.

To help meet there targets, we recommend the Government considers a rolling 10-year statement, so long as there is a default position and presumption in favour of continuing to roll the current agreement, rather than a reopening of the debate each year.

Our Work

Towards Net Zero: Challenges, opportunities, and policy recommendations

The property sector has a critical role to play in tackling climate change and the UK will not become net zero by 2050 unless we accelerate the decarbonisation of our homes and buildings. This report sets out the challenges and barriers faced by the property sector in the transition to net zero carbon, and sets out a series of policy recommendations.

Our Work

BPF response to MHCLG's consultation on reform of the compulsory purchase process and compensation rules

Our response raises concerns about the proposals to expand the scenarios whereby a landowner could be deprived of market value for certain forms of brownfield and land allocated for housing in a local plan. Our submission notes the proposals could have unintended consequences of increasing uncertainty in the land market, ultimately leading to fewer sites coming forward for housing development in overall terms.

Our Work

Affordable housing partnerships: Catalysing investment in social housing

A toolkit for increasing the supply of affordable homes. This publication examines the potential motivations of the two sectors as they approach partnerships, offers some reflections on the process of finding the right partner, and then analyses the emerging models of partnership.
