The BPF's report exploring the future of retail in high streets and town centres, with four key recommendations for Government.
Our latest research examines the energy efficiency of commercial buildings across seven major UK cities. It highlights that 83% of buildings fall below the EPC B rating required to meet proposed 2030 regulations, emphasising the significant challenge of retrofitting properties and the lack of government clarity on energy efficiency standards.
Our response strongly supports no changes to non-domestic EPCs and highlights a range of challenges with the proposed changes to domestic EPCs. If the changes go ahead, we call for appropriate transitioning measures (including sufficient lead-in times and the “grandfathering” of existing EPCs) and ongoing engagement with the sector, particularly given the links to MEES.
