Delivering Social Impact; Creating Communities That Thrive

The second in our series of three-linked London Core Forums - Real Estate & ESG - Environmental | Social | Governance, focuses on the ‘Social’ in ESG.

In partnership with Lendlease, the Forum – ‘Transforming Places: Delivering social impact; creating communities that thrive’, will comprise of a number of powerful sessions; with leaders from across the private and public sectors: presentations and a panel discussion.

There will be tours across Elephant Park, Lendlease’s £2.5 billion regeneration project in Elephant & Castle; with experts on hand to explain and showcase specific social and environmentally sustainable elements of the development.

Following the tours, join us for drinks and canapes at the Rosy Hue, an independent, authentic and neighbourhood pub – built on values, charity and the community. The ideal place for early evening networking, and to spend time enjoying the surroundings at the end of the day.

About Elephant Park:

Lendlease is delivering Elephant Park, a £2.5 billion regeneration project in Elephant & Castle, in partnership with Southwark Council. Once complete, it will include over 3,000 homes, 50 new retail and leisure units and 50,000 square feet of workspaces, all centred around a new two-acre park.

Lendlease is setting new benchmarks for sustainable urban regeneration at Elephant Park, and committed to the project being net-zero-carbon in operation when the outline planning consent was secured in 2013. The project is delivering one of the largest new green spaces in Central London for decades and green infrastructure has been championed through its park and tree strategy, retaining 128 mature plane trees from the original Heygate Estate, and planting a further 1,300. Elephant Park also includes a combined heat and power plant, the Energy Hub, to enable the delivery of net zero-carbon heating and hot water to all the new homes.

Elephant Park is being built ‘with’ the local community and the project is delivering inclusive public spaces and creating local opportunity for residents, workers and visitors, in the form of employment, skills and training and community initiatives. It’s aim is to create positive and lasting change.
