About this event
Labour Party Conference Fringe event (outside of secure zone) organised by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and British Property Federation (BPF).
Climate Crisis vs Housing Crisis: Does Something Need to Give?
How does the UK’s climate and environmental ambitions coexist with the strides being taken to tackle our long-term housing affordability crisis? All players in the housing, planning and property sectors have challenging targets for progressing towards a Net Zero future, but how achievable are these aspirations, how long will it take and what needs to be done in the meantime?
The BPF, HBF and the RTPI bring together a panel of industry experts to explore the barriers the sector faces in addressing these two great challenges of our day.
The panel discussion will take place at:
Labour Party Conference Monday 27th September
Monday 27th September, 3pm at the Norfolk Suite, Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel
Speakers:
- Victoria Hills (RTPI, Chair)
- Cllr Darren Rodwell (Council Leader, Barking and Dagenham)
- Timothy Crawshaw (RTPI)
- Neil Jefferson (HBF)
- Melanie Leech (BPF)
