The British Property Federation (“BPF”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Weston, Regional Head of Prologis UK, as the new Chair of its Logistics Property Board, assuming the role from David Sleath CEO of SEGRO as of October 2025. Paul will work alongside newly appointed Vice-Chair, Julian Carey, CEO of Indurent.
The UK’s industrial and logistics sector contributes £232 billion of GVA to the economy each year and provides critical infrastructure that ensures products and services are distributed to millions of households and thousands of businesses and retailers across the country.
The Board’s membership comprises of representatives of the country’s leading developers, investors and operators of logistics real estate. The sector supports 2.7 million jobs and has invested an estimated £170 billion of capital since 2000, with plans to increase investment by 50% over the next five years.
Paul and Julian bring a wealth of experience to the Board, having worked in the UK’s industrial and logistics sector for a combined 50 years. Their deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector will be instrumental as the Board continues to work closely with Government to create a policy environment that unlocks investment, supports job creation and embraces innovation.
Under Paul’s stewardship the Board will continue to articulate how the sector is instrumental to the Government’s growth agenda and a foundational sector underpinning the economy.
Paul Weston, Chair, commented: “I am honoured to be appointed Chair of the BPF Logistics Property Board at such a pivotal moment for our industry. With industrial logistics increasingly recognised as critical physical and digital infrastructure, it is vital that policy supports the sector’s ability to deliver sustainable growth, strengthen supply chains and help the UK decarbonise. I look forward to working with colleagues across the industry to ensure our voice is heard and that policy enables us to power UK growth, create skilled jobs across the regions and build a more resilient, lower-carbon economy.”
Julian Carey, Vice-Chair added: “Industrial and logistics facilities underpin the way we live, work and shop. From local SMEs to blue-chip multinationals operating in sectors like life sciences, advanced manufacturing and food production, high-growth industries rely on modern, adaptable workspace to thrive. As Vice Chair, I’m looking forward to working with Paul and the Board to champion our vital sector and ensure its contribution to the UK’s industrial strategy is fully recognised.”
