BPF response to MHCLG's consultation on the revised NPPF

We've responded to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s consultation on the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), welcoming the draft Framework as a positive step for national planning policy. Our response supports the overall direction of reform, including the clearer separation between plan-making and decision-making policies and the stronger emphasis on delivery, investment and economic growth. We highlight the need for stronger strategic planning to coordinate housing, employment land and infrastructure through Spatial Development Strategies, ensure employment and industrial land are given equal prominence alongside housing, and maintain proportionate and flexible viability policies to support the delivery of development.
