BPF response to MHCLG's consultation on statutory consultees role in the planning system

Our response argues statutory consultee involvement in the planning process should be more proportionate. High-quality, constructive advice must be paired with adequate resources for planners to weigh it effectively. The latest NPPF provides helpful guidance, but a culture shift is needed within Statutory Consultees from highlighting problems to offering practical solutions that enable development.
